Queen Elizabeth had her first dry dock refit in the Blohm & Voss shipyard in Hamburg in May. Blu Marine had over 120 contractors working on board during the refit and they chose Duralay Counterflame due to its flame retardancy qualities and the customer service that Interfloor provides. Stacey McCoo, from Blu Marine, said, “We required a high quality product for this prestigious ship and Duralay fit the bill.”

Launched in October 2010, Queen Elizabeth is Cunard Line’s second largest ship, capable of carrying 2,092 passengers and stretching 294m long, comprised of 16 decks.

Counterflame is Duralay’s best-selling flame retardant underlay. The 6.25mm thick latex foam underlay is IMO certified and classified as suitable for Heavy Contract installations. It is suitable for both stretch fit and double stick applications.
