Interfloor Women support Cancer Research UK’s “Race For Life”

On Sunday 10th May eight women from Interfloor braved the elements and successfully completed Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life event at Townley Park in Burnley.

The Interfloor team was made up of Sharon Flannagan, Karen Williams, Debbie Tod, Alison Pickford, Margaret Gillam, Jayne Kirwin, Jackie Lambert and Amanda Cherry (not in picture). They completed the 5km course and raised over £800 for Cancer Research UK from friends, relations and colleagues.

Alison Pickford, the Interfloor team’s race co-ordinator, said, “It was hard work but we really enjoyed doing it. We’re looking forward to coming back again next year and raising more money for cancer research.”

There was an unofficial ninth member of the team. Amanda’s border collie, Archie, was one of the first to finish!

Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life is the largest women-only fundraising event in the UK. Since 1994, women of all ages and fitness levels across the UK have come together at these inspiring events. Every pound raised in sponsorship goes to support the vital work of Cancer Research UK. This year it is planned that 680,000 women will do something amazing and come together to raise £62.5m to help beat cancer.
